Middle-film Syndrome can be tough on everyone. (3/31/2023)
I hope you don't find this poll too twee. Bill Murray is co-starring somewhere, you just know it. (3/30/2023)
Wow, that’s a lot of good movies. (3/28/2023)
They’re just a marvel, aren’t they? (3/28/2023)
Yeah, I know you didn't see it. But I listed it. I dare you, go ahead and click it. (3/28/2023)
Do you have a favorite? I know I do. Does anybody have a banana? (3/28/2023)
Where are all of his other movies? (4/24/2023)
QT at his best! (4/15/2023)
Well, let me tell you...EVERY horror movie wants me to sleep with the light on. I'm a total wuss that way. I expect that every single one of these would do the trick. But I've at least seen Halloween. Or, parts of it. I'm such a wuss. (4/5/2023)
Arrival was one of my absolutely favorite movies the last ten years (and, in fact, I kind of owe it a debt of gratitude, because I wanted to read the source material and it got me hoked on sci fi short stories). But I think the best time travel movie EVER is Looper. (3/31/2023)
Superbad is super good! (3/31/2023)
LOL you DID beat me to it! What's funny is that we have the exact same list, I think...all of his movies except Bottle Rocket. (3/30/2023)
Hairspray was the first "grown-up" film that I took my daughter to, when she was seven. She loved it, though I'm sure she didn't get all the racial tension stuff, lol. (3/30/2023)
I love so many of his movies, I think my vote really would be, "Whichever one I saw last". But Moonrise Kingdom was the first time I had such a positive reaction to one of his films. He's got a reputation that his films are too precious, but hey, I like that once in a while. No one else does them like him, so I don't feel overwhelmed by them. But I will sit down with almost all the films on this list at the drop of a hat. (3/30/2023)
I would not be a Minnesotan if I didn't choose Purple Rain! Though, actually, my favorite song from the soundtrack is by Morris Day and the Time. *runs for cover* (3/30/2023)
Pretty tough call, as I have actually seen all of these! And even though I didn't pick it in the Spielberg poll, I've got to go with Raiders. Especially around Passover. (3/30/2023)
With my child it was Monsters, Inc. lol! (3/29/2023)
Thor, Ragnarok is probably my favorite Marvel movie, and I've really enjoyed Chris Hemsworth's comedy chops...but I thought Adaptation was really good. Two Nicolas Cages for the price of one! (3/29/2023)
Really, it was The Shining. Because I never saw another Stephen King again, no sir, no thank you. But I did see the first installment of It (not the 2017 version, the earlier one with Tim Curry)...and again, no thank you! So it gets my honorary vote, lol. (3/29/2023)
I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy something like a dozen times over the course of my youth. When the movies were announced I was excited, then worried, then excited again. And then the Fellowship of the Ring movie hit screens, and I was no longer worried, just excited. This trilogy remains among the very best movie experiences of my life. (3/29/2023)
That year we had three iconic franchises come to an “end”: Avengers, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones. This one was the only one to stick the landing. (3/29/2023)
Everyone I recommended this movie to…didn’t like it, lol. But I loved it! I like this much more than I liked The Favourite. And coincidentally it was my first exposure to Olivia Colman. (3/29/2023)
He’s done many films and many good ones, but I will always come back to Jaws as one of the classics of the movies I gee up with. Even though I am seriously scared of the water ever since I was a child because of it. (3/29/2023)
Oh, and it's not even close. (3/28/2023)
I used to think there was no modern version that could surpass the original...but you know, I really liked Peter Jackson's version. (3/28/2023)
